Transforming Special Education Conflict into Collaborative Partnership
Be a Groundbreaking District: Educate, Not Enrage. Show your families that you care more, trust them more, and invest in them more than any other district in the state. By putting a District Staff Member and a Parent Leader in the SAME room to co-teach parent education under supervised program fidelity, you deliver radical transparency and authentic good faith without legal risk or advocacy slant.

Meet Your Program Creator: Ellie Morrissey, MS, LEP, BCBA
Ellie is a Licensed Educational Psychologist (#3165), BCBA (#1-12-12327) and founder of SoCal IEE, a boutique private practice specializing in differential eligibility determinations, holistic FBAs, and complicated cases. Peaceful IEP Navigators™ was brought forth as a marriage between her two decades in special education (including six years as a SELPA Program Specialist and reluctant CALPADS operator) and her experience as a parent to neurodivergent children, one with Level 2 Autism and Stargardt disease. PIN aims to make the IEP process more transparent and less stressful for families through accessible education that allows all members of the IEP team to act as truly equal and informed members.

Understanding the G.A.M.E.S. Framework™
Want to show your parents that you are a cutting edge district that truly values partnership? Train a PARENT to present parent education alongside your staff. With the P.I.N. Dyad Co-Facilitation Model, you don't need to tell parents they matter — they see it on the stage when they arrive. Heavily scripted programming and guardrails allow both the staff and parent to present material with ease and techniques to ensure parents feel heard — while maintaining the commitment to education over advocacy. It teaches parents and staff the five pillars found in every IEP, so meetings begin from shared understanding instead of confusion.
Goals
The measurable annual progress milestones that define what the student will achieve and drive the entire IEP.
Accommodations
Changes in how a student accesses instruction and demonstrates learning without modifying classroom standards.
Modifications
Direct changes and adaptations to what a student is expected to learn.
Educational Services
The specialized instruction and related services (speech, OT, behavioral, academic) the student receives.
Special Education Placement
Navigating the setting continuum where services are delivered per the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE).
