Join the Movement: Become a Peaceful Navigator
Are you tired of feeling like you have to choose between speaking nicely and being ignored, or screaming loudly just to be heard? There is a different way. Welcome to the Lime Avenue Cohort, an exciting new movement in peer support designed for specialists ready to transition from informal support to high-impact technical precision.
A Technical Map for the Heart
You already have the heart for this work; we provide the map. This 40-hour specialization is a challenging, rigorous program for those ready to take their professional skills to the next level. Whether you hold a GED, did not finish high school, or are a rocket scientist at Caltech, everyone starts equally "illiterate" in the foreign language of child-serving systems. We teach you to speak that language fluently.
This isn’t about fighting systems—it’s about navigating them so effectively that the data does the talking for you. By mastering Technical Document Analysis (no formal education needed!), you will learn to look at a plan and see exactly where the "holes" are, allowing you to help families get what they actually need without the exhausting combat.
Rigorous Support, Real Stewardship
We believe that high-quality training should be within reach for everyone who has completed their general certificate. This program is built on nearly 25 years of experience from a special educator who worked on the front lines of underfunded schools, once "breaking crayons" so students could share. We operate with extraordinary frugal financial stewardship, utilizing a donated physical laboratory at 118 W. Lime Ave to keep costs at zero or very low for our students.
Because we have a limited number of spots at our table, we ask for a deep commitment to completion. In return, we offer a highly supportive environment with 1:1 tech coaching and a "meta" philosophy where the instructor models the exact professional boundaries and negotiation skills you are training to master.
Program Outcomes
By the end of this cohort, you will have the forensic tools to:
Solve "Who Pays" Conflicts: Use legal frameworks to identify if the school or Regional Center is responsible for a service, ending the runaround for families.
Fix Broken Paperwork: Identify technical "holes" like Broken Math or Ghost Monitoring, ensuring every goal is actually enforceable.
Request Services Calmly: Use the DEAR MAN framework to make clear, structured requests that keep the room peaceful while keeping the parent’s vision first.
See the Progress: Turn confusing notes into simple Google Sheets Trend Lines so the whole team can see exactly how the student is doing.
Navigate Every System: Support families across Foster Care, Juvenile Justice, and Homeless Youth services, making sure a child’s rights travel with them.
Space is limited. Join the Lime Avenue Cohort and start the movement toward peaceful, data-grounded advocacy.
